About Pavan Agarwal

Pavan Agarwal is a billionaire who works where artificial intelligence, real estate and financial services meet. He wrote his first AI programs while he helped his family build a real estate portfolio. He also helped scale Sun West Mortgage. His father, the late Hari Agarwal, founded the company. It grew into a national mortgage lender and servicer. Pavan worked by his father's side from the time he was a kid. He is a first generation immigrant, so he knows what owning a home means and how hard the process can feel. That view shaped how he built Sun West's operations. The goal was lower costs and better outcomes for borrowers nationwide. He created AngelAi to make the path to ownership simpler and more human. His mission is to make financial opportunity and co-ownership available for every American.

What They Shared in the Interview

  1. 01

    Integrity protects a business.

His father ran the company on doing it right, never lying and never breaking your word. During the financial crisis, trading partners who had worked with them for 20 years trusted them and helped them through.

  2. 02

Be honest when you are weak.

He said not to bluff with long term trading partners. Overselling your position can burn years of trust.

  3. 03

A willingness to work comes first.

When someone without a big track record approaches him, he asks if they are willing to work. He sees your brain and your hands as your biggest assets.

  4. 04

    Build on fundamentals.

He sees AI as an ocean, not a wave. He said the winners focus on fundamentals and build for the long term instead of chasing waves.

  5. 05

    Mindset leads to action.

Growth came from moving from thinking small to believing they could build something big. That shift led to nationwide marketing and a willingness to experiment.

  6. 06

    Stay the course.

He would tell his younger self to listen to himself and not chase shiny objects or other people's methods.
